Miss You A Latte

Mornin' peeps!  Happy Hump Day - middle of the week already and it is just whizzing by for me!!

I have a card to share today for the Double-Take Tuesday challenge over at The Greeting Farm.  The challenge this week is to use the colors Purple and Green.  Easy peasy, right?

I used the current sketch over at Sketch Saturday for inspiration:

and used the adorable Latte Anya stamp from TGF for my creation :)

I was happy to use some old MME papers again from the Totally Girl paper collection from last year.  I paper pieced her cap and her little coffee mug with some of it.  I added some Milled Lavender Distress Stickles for the heart button in her cap.  I also smeared some of the stickles over the petite purple Recollections flowers and used up some ric-rac in my stash.  The image is lightly inked with some Lavender Studio G Chalk Ink for a little definition.  The image and the flowers are mounted with foam squares to give a little pop!

Hoping you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by to take a peek :)

Be Mine

Hi everyone....Happy Monday!  Hoping you all had a fabulous weekend :)

With one day to spare, I made a card to enter the monthly challenge over at Some Odd Girl.  This month, SOG has a yummy sketch for you to play along with.  Oh!!!!  And have you joined the new community SOG has going?  It's a great place to meet new people and share your love for everything SOG!  If you have some time, I highly recommend you check it out here and join in the fun!!

Here is January's sketch:

And here is my take on it using the adorable digi, Angel Kaylee, from Some Odd Girl, which you can find in the store by clicking here.

I absolutely LOVE her, don't you??  I used some MME scraps that I've had staring at me for quite some time.  I cut out the hearts on my Cricut Expression, matted them, embossed them with a Cricut embossing folder, and inked them with some Studio G pink chalk ink for definition.  The Be Mine typewriter sentiment is a Pebbles Real Life sticker that I think I've had in my stash as long as the MME paper, lol.  I cut off the end to fit the card and used the remains in the upper lefthand corner to tie it all together.

Hoping you all enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

With Deepest Sympathy

Good morning my friends...

Unfortunately, it was that time to make a sympathy card for my husband's friend who lost a family member unexpectedly.  He was very young; left a young bride and two small children - 4 and 1 years old.  It's times like these where I sit silently and wonder....why does this kind of stuff happen?

Sometimes there are no answers and sometimes, there just aren't any words.  And while I sat at my craft desk wondering what to do that would be appropriate, I just used a gorgeous image from A Day For Daisies that I recently won.  Usually, I just go with just a sentiment as a focal point, but I think this image is gorgeous all on it's own and conveys the sympathy we feel for my husband's friend without having to say anything all.

Normally, I would never think of using pink on a sympathy card, but I think its subtle enough here and I used some Colorbox Chalk Ink in black to try soften it up as well.  She is colored in Copics and the the papers are a mix of Pink Paislee's London Market and Prima's Almanac Collection.  The image and the papers are all distressed in that chalk ink.  I used a Fiskars punch for the border and a gorgeous black flower from Petaloo.

Remember to say I love you to those that you love today...and thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

TGIF with TGF!

Happy Friday my friends!  Where did this week go??

I absolutely adore Karen's weekly sketches over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge but have never been able to actually play along.  I'm happy that I finally got the chance to jump in!

So here's the sketch for the week:

And here is my take using an adorable stamp from The Greeting Farm included in the Miss Anya Dressy collection, which you can find by clicking here:

This little cutie is colored and Copics and I added a little piece of pink bling to her bow.  I went to my go-to paper pad by American Crafts - the cloud bg was created with vellum that came in the 12x12 Recollection pad.  The flower is by Prima and I finished it off with a cute little metal sticker from Momenta.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!

Movie Inspired

Good morning my crafty friends!

The current challenge over at Saturated Canary is to make make a creation that is inspired by a movie.

I was inspired by one of my all-time favorites, Hans Christian Anderson, starring Danny Kaye, from 1952.

One of Hans Christian Anderson's famous stories is The Red Shoes, so my little cutie from SC has just that :)

I colored her up in Copics and I'll admit I struggled on the hair.  I definitely need more practice on Krista's gorgeous images to do them justice.  The papers are leftovers from the MME Winter Wonderland 6x6 pad - love when I can use Christmas paper for something other than Christmas ;)  The flower/cordorouy button brad is from K&Company and the red pearls were in my stash.  I inked up the MFT sentiment in Memento Rich Cocoa and distressed it Colorbox Sky Blue pigment ink to match the sky I created for her.  I punched two tiny butterflies and distressed them in Cranberry Colorbox pigment ink.

Hope you all have a fabulous day ahead of you.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek :)

Thinking of You

Happy Monday friends!  How was your weekend?  Do anything fun?

We are on round #2 of the yuckies in our house.  Our second daughter has gotten what her twin had all last week :(   Poor thing is quite miserable....couching it under a multitude of blankies and watching Mister Rogers.

I snuck away for a bit to make this card drawing inspiration from the current Farm Fresh Friday challenge "Punch It".  I used one of the Anya's that come in the Miss Anya Hats Off Collection from The Greeting Farm, which you can find by clicking here.

Isn't she adorable?  She is colored in Copics and there is a hint of sparkle from some Yellow Stickles on the flower center in her hair.  The papers are a hodge podge of the 6x6 American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection and the 12x12 Recollections The Neapolitan Collection.  The sentiment is from the Pure Innocence All Occasion Sentiments set from MFT and was inked in some pink Studio G Chalk Ink.  I used some of The Twinery's Flax twine and the sticker flowers from the 12x12 Recollections pad.  The stickers were adhered to some cardstock and fussy cut to make them a tad thicker. I popped up both the flowers and the image with some foam squares for dimension.  I used my Fiskars  punch for the edging.

Well I do hope that you are all staying healthy and having a wonderful start to your week!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  I love each and every comment; and appreciate you taking the time to leave me one!

A Mini To Share

Happy Saturday friends!!

I wanted to share a cute little mini I made for my friend Gina using the Recollections "The Neopolitan Collection" paper collection and some business envelopes that had been laying around doing nothing.  Each of the envies were cut down to size and covered with that yummy paper!!  I cut the ends off to create pockets for extra tags for photos, or journaling, and in an effort to save some time, did not photograph each tag.

Here is the front cover made with DCWV Chipboard Stacks Brights chipboard.  I used tons of ribbon from my stash and covered an old, hideous chipboard tag with some of the paper collection and softened it with some pink Studio G chalk ink.  The flowers are a mix of Prima and Recollections.

The pinwheel I made from a 4' square of paper and a shiny gem brad using Drew Scott's tutorial on YouTube, which you can find by clicking here.  If you ever have some extra time, you should totally check out his vids - the kid is mad talented!

Above, I created a pocket:  a place for tags or photos on the inside flap.  I fussy cut the mason jars paper that came in the collection, and below, the page holds a spot for a photo!

On this page, I created a side pocket to hold tags or photos:

On the page below, there is a spot for a photo which you tuck under the happy mason jar "Polaroid" that is partially adhered to the page:

My favorite page - a spot for a photo wherever and however you'd like:

This page below features a matted photo spot:

The next page features an interactive page.  The square is tied together with a bow, that when opened, has two photo mats:

Getting close to the end, another page for a photo:

On the next page, I created another pocket to hold photos and tags.  Again, I fussy cut out the mason jars *so cute*:

And here is the last page of the mini: another pocket to hold photos or tags.  For now, it holds some "Polaroids" that came in the paper pad that were fussy cut and tucked in sweetly.  You can journal on the back of those, too!

I just adore making these mini albums!!!  They are so, so much fun and come together rather quickly. I truly hope that you'll give one a try!!

Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

I Miss You

With all the technology we have these days, its easy to just shoot a text, email or even "see" someone via Skype or Facetime.  I really feel like we've lost the art of writing letters and sending cards to each other with all of our advancements.  But I don't know about you, I still love getting happy mail or a little note from someone just to tell me they were thinking of me. :)  Just makes my whole day!!  I made this card with that in mind!

I used a new set *well for me anyway* called Making A List from MFT and I just love it!  Of course, it features my little favorite PI girl and some adorable sentiments to match!  I used the current MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch as inspiration and tweaked it to make it my own.

I colored her in Copics and added some polka dots to the top of her dress using a Sharpie Poster Paint marker in White.  There is a hint of sparkle from some XMas Red Stickles on the heart bow in her head.  The paper line is from Recollections called With Love and I threw in some American Crafts red and white twine.  All of the papers are distressed in Studio G chalk ink in Pink.  I cut out the hearts on my Cricut Expression and put some pop dots in between them for some pop and added the sentiment from the set on there- love the effect!

Hoping you have a fabulous day ahead of you! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Under the Wire

Good morning my crafty friends!  I had a fantastic weekend and hoping you all did too!  My friend Gina drove up Saturday for a girl's day out together.  We got some shopping in; then colored and stamped the rest of the afternoon.  It's always a good time when Gina visits and already can't wait until our next one!!   :)

One of the images I colored during her visit was from the Miss Anya Dressy collection from The Greeting Farm.  I just think she is too adorable for words!  I used the sketch from the TGF's Double Take Tuesday challenge as inspiration:

I colored her in Copics and tried out a new auburn color combo that I just love to bits.  The paper is from the Authentique collection called Delightful.  I added some yellow Stickles to the sunflower in her hair, punched out two butterflies and layered them to give a little pop, used some American Crafts twine, a button from my stash and beautiful crocheted flower I had won in a RAK a long time ago.  I also incorporated the Farm Fresh Friday challenge theme of International Thank You Day and stamped a MFT Pure Innocence sentiment in Memento Rich Cocoa from the All Occasion Sentiments set in the bottom right corner.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!! Have a wonderful day :)

Hello Sweetheart ;)

Happy Saturday, friends!!

So it seems super cah-razy to me that we just finished celebrating Christmas and New Year's and yet all of the stores have all their Valentine's Day stuff up.  Seriously, I haven't even taken my tree down yet!!

But with all the hearts and cupids out there screaming at me,  I got a jump on Love Day, and created a card using the current All That Scraps challenge colors (red, pink and chocolate) and the current Mojo Monday sketch.  Here is Mojo's sketch *you can go with either round or square, and of course, I went with the square*:

For today's card, I used the CC Designs Swiss Pixie Violet with Key stamp and colored her in Copics.  The papers are from the new Recollections 6x6 pad called With Love.  I can already tell this is going to be a fave of mine!  The red glittered cs is from Martha Stewart.  I used MFT ribbon in Bubblegum and some red/white twine from American Crafts.  There is an adorable key charm to match the key she is holding that I got from my dear friend, Gina.  The Love and Hello Sweetheart stamp were stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  Unfortunately, I've had those stamps since I started stamping and have lost the packaging, so I can't remember for the life of me who the stamps are from!  There is a heart pearl in the corner that I've had in my stash for a long time as well.

Keeping with my New Year's crafty resolution, I managed to finish up the inside with the scraps from the front.  Maybe I shouldn't have stamped the stamp in the corner since now there is a line between the top half of the heart? Oh well, ya craft and learn:

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by to take a peek :)

Happy New Year!

Good morning all my sweet, crafty friends!!  Hoping that you had a wonderful holiday season with your friends and family.  I was able to get my entire family healthy just in the nick of time, yay!!!!!, so thankfully we were able to enjoy Christmas and New Year's :))

With all the prep and family functions during Christmas; and myself and the kids being sick, I really didn't have any time for crafting.   So today, as the kids headed off to school *first time in weeks!!*, I shut the phone off, cranked me some tunes on Pandora, and gave the current sketch at MFT a go!

I loved the sketch this week, and how easily my card just fell into place.  I decided to go with a Thank You card for some of those pressies we received.  Can never say Thank You enough, IMHO!

I used the adorable Violin Girl stamp set from the store.  She was stamped off in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in Copics.  She was a brandy-new stamp for me that I had won awhile ago but never inked, and was oh-so fun coloring this morning.  I used some new papers from Authentique called Delightful and distressed the sentiment in some Studio G Chalk Ink in pink to match.  The twine is from Queen & Co. and the pink pearls have been sitting in my stash.

One of my silent, crafty new year's resolution is to work on finishing the inside of the card right after creating the front of it.  I'm hoping my commitment to this lasts, lol....I always seem to leave the inside until the very moment I'm about to give it to someone.  Eek!  So here is the inside using some of the scraps, a sentiment from the All Occasions Sentiments stamp set from MFT, and the very same Fiskars punch used on the front of the card:

I do wish you and your families love, good health and wonderful memories in 2013.  Happy New Year and may it be one of your best years yet!
