You're My Heart Warmer

Good morning all my crafty friends.

I cannot believe how utterly cold it has been here in Jersey - especially before Thanksgiving.  It's kinda been a huge help in the Mojo department!!  I've been feeling so chilly enough to stay indoors and get a head start on those Christmas cards.  Yippee!

This week over at The Greeting Farm the challenge is Make It Sparkle.  Great excuse to break out those Stickles ;)

So I did just that!!  This adorable cutie is colored up in Copics and I added some Xmas Red Stickles to her little earmuffs!  I heated up some white Liquid Applique around and underneath her for some "snow".  The papers are from My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland collection and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  I added some green crinkle ribbon from my stash.  To finish it all off, I cut out a heart with my Cricut Expression and then added some of the same Stickles to that as well.  You can never have enough sparkle, in my humble opinion ;)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.  Stay warm!!

Just Poppin' By!

Good morning all my crafty friends and Happy Monday.  I hope that your week is starting off on the right foot.

I decided to whip up a cute and quick little card for a friend of mine that I haven't seen in awhile.  With kids and jobs, its so hard sometimes to get together, or talk, as often as we'd like or used to.  I just wanted to send her a little note to let her know I was thinking of her.

I had just gotten this stamp set from Some Odd Girl called Breakfast Friends that I've had on my wishlist forever.  A recent win over at Simon Says Stamp allowed me to finally get it!  Woot, woot!  I absolutely adore this little duo and think it works perfectly to give out a shout out *and a smile, of course* to my friend!

Totally precious, right??  This little toaster and his friend are colored in Copics.  The paper is a mix of Recollections craft cardstock, DCWV blue cardstock and Paper Studio DP.  The sentiment is from the Breakfast Friends stamp set as well, and is inked in Momento's Rich Cocoa ink.  These buttons have been laying around in my stash for quite some time and were threaded with some twine before adhering to the card.  I used a Fiskars punch to give the corner treatment a little something extra.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Happy Thoughts!

Good morning my crafty peeps!

It is rainy and dreary here in Jersey today so I had to make something bright and cheery to chase away the clouds.  This creation definitely did just that, and I'm super excited that I was able to get it done right under the wire for The Greeting Farm's FFF Anything Goes challenge!

A friend of mine was kind enough to get me one of my favorite TGF stamps, Flirty Anya *thanks girl - you know who you are!!*, so I had to ink her up right away.  She is so adorable and easy to color...love her!

This cutie was brought to life with my Copics and I added some Yellow Stickles to the rose in her hair for some extra yumminess.  The papers are a mix of Recollections kraft cardstock, Bazzill yellow cardstock, and the American Crafts My Girl collection. The sentiment was from the Taylored Expressions Many Minis Occasions stamp collection and was inked in Momenta Rich Cocoa ink.  I used some Queen & Co. self-adhesive pearls and some resin coca roses in my stash.  Underneath the gingham panel, I used a Fiskars punch to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day ahead!

Birthday Flowers

Good morning all my crafty friends!

A dear friend of mine just celebrated her birthday and I thought I would use this precious CC Designs stamp to create her birthday card.   She is from the Swiss Pixies collection and her name is May Day Birgitta, which you can find in the CC Designs store by clicking here.

Swoon!! I love her little haircut and her little shoes!!  They remind of me of ones I had when I was a little girl!  I colored up this sweetie with Copics and added some Yellow Stickles to the flower centers.  On the frill of her dress, I added some Stardust stickles for a little pizazz.  The papers are from the American Crafts Color Crush collection.  I then stamped off one of the sentiments from the Taylored Expressions Many Minis Occasions stamp collection in Momento's Rich Cocoa ink.  The teal flowers are from Recollections and I added some orange seam binding from my stash to finish it off.

Oh, and did you know that CC Designs is hosting a DT Call until October 20th?!  Woot, woot!!!  Click on the banner below to take you to the post on their site to find out all the details!  What a fabulous opportunity and I'm crossing my fingers, for sure :)  Wish me luck!

Interrupt our normal program

Sometimes I just feel like taking a break from whatever I'm used to doing; change it up if you will.

I've been wanting to do one of these altered printer trays from 7Gypsies for so long I cannot even tell you.  But, its like so many of the projects that I have swirling around in my head, I just never got around to it.  So, I put my Copics down for a little bit, and picked up the tray.

Originally, i was going to put my daughters' pictures in the boxes, but then an epiphany hit me and it changed the course of my tray altogether.  I'm so happy I went with my new idea and how it turned out.

The papers are from the Prima Almanac Collection.  I've used some Momenta corners and metal pieces including the dream square in the top right box and the bird cage in the bottom left one.  I was so happy to use up some of my old stash that has been sitting around in my craft drawers like the cherish and wedding sticker.  The flowers are a mix of Recollections and Petaloo.  I used a Heidi Swapp and Inkadinkadoo stamp for the sentiment and butterfly box.  There are some Wilton doilies and Recollections pearls floating about.  I used a fiskars punch in the top right box and my Cricut to cut out the heart for the top left one.  My cricut also cut out the fancy photo corners. In the bottom right corner, I glued some American Crafts black and white twine to the tiny Maya Roads spools.

This was such a super fun and quick project once the Mojo hit.  I'm over the moon that our grandparents, who meant the world to us, will finally be on our wall in our home.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hoping you have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Sara

TGIF!

Good morning friends and happy Friday!!  What have you got planned for the weekend ahead?  Anything good?  My girls are taking their first ever Girl Scouts camping trip with their troop, so hopefully Mommy will be able to make up for lost time and get crafty!

I started the weekend off right by inking up this Tiddly Inks image.  As you know, I'm a huge lover of all things Wryn.  She definitely jacked up the Mojo factor!

I colored my girl in Copics and added some Liquid Pearls on her corners.  The papers are from the Authentique "Journey" Collection.  I used the leftover scraps from the collection to hand roll the blue roses and centered them with some Queen & Co. pearls.  The metal roses are from Momenta and, sadly, are the last ones I have :(  Guess its time to get to Hobby Lobby and get some more ;)  I also punched the white cardstock with a Fiskars punch for a little girly edging.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by to take a peek!!

Thinking of you

Good morning everyone!

Wanted to share with you a card I made using a Saturated Canary image called Angels Among Us. I decided to do something a bit different for me and stick with Sepia tones.

She was colored in Copics and distressed with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  The tickets were from Maya Road and then I inked up a Mini Occasion sentiment from Taylored Expressions on the inside.  The beautiful chocolate roses and the gorgeous burlap rose are from Spare Parts.

Hoping you all have a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Gotta Be In It, To Win It :)

Good afternoon all my crafty friends!  What a wonderful, busy week it has been here for our family.   We decided to go camping with all the girls for the first time!  What an adventure - and so much fun :)

While we were away, there has been a DT Call going on over at Tiddly Inks!  I have been biting at the bit to get inky and try out.  Thankfully, we came home in time so that I could create something and throw my hat into the ring.

Christy wanted us to use our very most favorite Tiddly Inks image on our creation for the call.  Well, that was a pretty tall order, since I'm totally in love with just about every image in her store ;).  I decided, however, to go with my favorite girl, Wryn ;)

I just love Wryn as  Teacher Helper!!!  Her glasses.....her stack of books.....*yum!* ...I mean, really, what is not to love about this cutie??  I brought her to life with  my Copics and distressed her with my Tim Holtz distress tool.  The fabby papers are the Hall Pass collection from We R Memory Keepers and they are just perfect for those notes to the teacher or even some cutie bookmarks!  After the image and papers were distressed, I inked everything in my Vintage Photo Distress Ink from Tim Holtz.  I then found the perfect button in my stash and added some twine to finish it all off!

Working for Christy and with her amazing art would definitely be a dream come true!  I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

Lots of luck to all the creative ladies out there that applied!

Keep On Rockin'

Hey folks!

I have a quick post today to share a masculine, CAS card *gasp*!  My daughter's boyfriend is celebrating his birthday today, so it was time to put aside those girly and cutesy stamps for something boyish.  So challenging for me!

Her boyfriend is into guitars so I thought it only fitting to use the adorable digi stamp from Some Odd Girl called Guitar Kody, which you can find in the SOG store by clicking here!

I used the current Sweet Sunday sketch and the current challenge on the SOG facebook page which is Stars and Stripes as inspiration for my creation.  I stamped off a sentiment from the SOG Music Mae stamp set using Frost White Colorbox Pigment Ink.  The papers were a gift from my friend Gina.

Thats it for me today!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

A little hello

And when I say little, boy do I mean it!!

The challenge over at Tiddly Inks this fortnight is anything tiny like an ATC or a gift card holder, or a tiny card.  So, being as tho I have not done an ATC in ages, I decided to try a 4x4 card thinking that it would be an easy task.  Ha!    What was I thinking?  Well it definitely challenged me, thats for sure!!

Here is my creation:

I colored this cutie patootie with Copics!  The papers are from the Simple Stories/ Summer Fresh collection and I just love them to bits!  The sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions Many Mini Occasions stamp set and is inked in Momento Rhubarb Stalk.  I decided to round the corners with my Making Memories corner rounder and then slapped on some cute Washi tape to finish it off!  Simples yet totally adorable, don't ya think?

Hoping you'll join all the fun over at the TI challenge blog!  There's plenty of time to enter your creation!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Many Thanks

Hey my crafty friends!

Its been hard to find some time to craft with the kids home from school , but I managed to make this card in piece mail, and finally finished it up in time to play along with the challenge underway over at Some Odd Girl's facebook page.

The challenge is called Wings and Things.  I decided to drag out my SOG Fairy Magic stamp set for this one.  She is still one of my all time faves, and I never grow tired of coloring her up.

She is colored in Copics *of course, tee hee*.  I used some papers that I won in a RAK and added a Wilton doily behind her.  The beautiful pink flowers are from Prima and the metal roses are from Momenta.  In the upper left corner, I adhered some metal finished pearls from Queen & Co.  I used a punch to create the tiny butterflies and the metal sentiment is from Momenta as well.

The challenge runs through Monday, July 22nd!  Hopefully we will see you over there with your fab creation!

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!  Have a wonderful day!

Comfort Zone: GONE!

Poof!  LOL!

I tried something I don't normally do - EVER.  I created a scene behind my image *or tried to!* and I went very, ultra CAS.  Well, as CAS I could allow myself ;)

I went with the theme over at the TGF FFF challenge this week:  Summer Lovin'!

I colored this TGF cutie in Copics as well as the beachy/cloudy scene behind her.  I didn't want to add any papers; and just kept all eyes on her and the beach she's vacationing at !   I used some of my most favorite Washi tape, added some hemp twine and fussy cut out the cute Summer tag from the Simple Stories Summer Fresh collection.  I attempted some doodling around the image with my Copic mutliliner *ok, thats not as easy as it looks, lol*.  And voila, a cute, simple card !

Feeling good to get back on the horse

Hey, hey, hey....

The past couple of months have been quite rough here and without getting into the nitty gritty, I haven't had much time to touch my Copics or make any cards.  Not happy!! However, with a bit of a break from the crazy, and the long, holiday weekend, I was able to not only color, but finish up a card, too.  I was a little rusty but it felt so good for some crafty therapy ;)

I used this fabulous digi from Some Odd Girl and a sketch from Iheartsketches as inspiration.

These new papers I won in a RAK are just gorgeous and if anyone knows who they are by, would you pretty please tell me in the comments below??  I just love them and need to get more of them!!!  The mix of patterns are oh so soft and pretty!  Her glorious wings were colored in a light BG color and then I added some Ocean Water Stickles on top to make them pop.  The cute little butterfly was given polka dots with my Copic multiliner and then smothered in Glossy Accents.  I used a Wilton doily and added some Recollections pearls.  I'm not sure if you can tell, but I spritzed the daisy with some Sheer Shimmer Sparkle and then centered it with some pink/white twine and a button.  There is a very sheer, pale green ribbon behind the flower.  I also used one of my Fiskars punches.  The sentiment was from the Stampin' Up Kindness Matters set and was inked in Momento Tuxedo Black.

For all my friends in the States, I hope you had a fun and safe holiday weekend!  Wishing you all a happy week ahead!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hopefully I'll be back with more in the near future!

Note: I love you!

Happy Saturday friends!!

What a week - between sick kids and snow days, I never thought I'd see Saturday.  And, not only is it Saturday, but the sun is shining in Jersey and the birds are singing!!!  Woot!

Some Odd Girl is having a week long celebration on their Facebook page filled with lots of inspiration and challenges.  Each day of the week has a different challenge which you can enter for some fabby prizes!  If you love SOG as much as I do, you seriously need to hop on over to FB and check it out --only one day left to get in those minute makes!

So Monday's challenge was Punches and this is what I came up with using the current Deconstructed Sketch as inspiration:

Isn't she just precious-ness?  Love Letter Kaylee and her matching sentiment were stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and Copics.  I used some textured grey cardstock from Wassau and all the rest of the papers, including the dp, is from Recollections.  I used my Fiskars punch for the side edging.  The heart was cut out using my Cricut Expression, and then I took a Sharpie Poster Paint pen to create some faux stitching around it.  The flower and self-adhesive pearls were laying in my stash for quite awhile.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Pining for Spring

With snow still on the ground from the storm we just had, the sun is shining and temps are near 45 today in Jersey.  Crazy weird, but can someone say Woot!!!  I'm seriously pining for all that is spring....flowers, sunshine, WARMTH...

Today I have a card to share that I made using the ever adorable image from Elisabeth Bell.  I'm so jealous that she's laying amongst the flowers; daydreaming and thinking of someone special ;)  I'd much rather be doing that instead of laundry, for sure!

She was brought to life with Copics and given a little texture using Liquid Pearls in Pink.  I used kraft cardstock from Recollections and designer papers from the adorable Heidi Grace collection called Sunshowers.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and is inked in Momento Rich Cocoa.  I've used some Twinery flax twine and a crocheted flower from Recollections.  Also, I edged the papers using a Fiskars border punch and adhered some Queen & Co. pearls in the corner.

Hoping where you are is sprouting tiny signs of spring!!

Hope for Tomorrow

Good morning everybody!

I have a card to share with you today using the beautiful new digi stamp from Some Odd Girl called Butterfly Friend Fairy.  I just love her and all her fairy friends that are new in the SOG store.  If you haven't seen them yet, you definitely have to hop on over and check them out!   Hopefully I'll score some more time today to color the rest of her friends up :)

I brought this beautiful girl to life with Copics and lightly chalked in the image in Studio G chalk ink.  The papers are a mix of Colorbok cardstock and the new collection from Bo Bunny.  Since I'm totally digging green this spring, this paper pad is luurrrvely !!!!  I cut strips of paper from a Kaisercraft collection to create the sentiment which reads "Learn from Yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow".  The beautiful peach flower is from Prima and I offset it with some metal roses from Momenta.  I then adhered some Queen & Co. grey Goosebumps that twinkle ever so slightly.  I also used the Sketch & Stash sketch this week as inspiration, which you can find by clicking here.

Ps - there is a Design Team Call going on at Some Odd Girl until March 2nd!  Click here to find out all the details on how to apply!

Baby Mini

Good morning friends!

My friend had asked me if I could make a little baby advice book for her daughter's baby shower.  She wanted something 1. cute 2. simple and not overly embellished 3. something with turtles *that was her theme*.

I was stoked because I had just gotten the new Bind-It-All for Christmas and haven't been able to use it yet.  I was also thrilled because I knew that Meljen's Designs carries an adorable digi called Lovin' Turtle, which would be perfect for this book!  Here is what I came up with:

I colored him in Copics to match this adorable paper by Paper Studio.  His little hearts were then covered in two coats of Glossy Accents to really make them really pop!  In addition to the Paper Studio dp, I used some Parakeet Bazzill cardstock.  All papers were adhered to the chipboard that came with my Bind-It-All using some Terrifically Tacky Tape.  I used up some old corner stickers from a baby sticker pad, a self-adhesive gem heart for above his head, added some Tim Holtz tickets and then created the scalloped rolled flowers with a die.  I also punched the edging using a Fiskars punch and then added some ribbons from my stash to the binding.

Here is what the book looks like opened up:

I made an inside little pocket for the mommy-to-be to hold some tags, photos, mementos, whatever!    The tag was made using Recollections kraft cardstock, some yellow craft seam binding from my stash, a Creative Memories lined bg stamp, and a baby stamp from an old set.  The button was from a Recollections self-adhesive button embellie pack, and was oh so cute to finish it off!

Here's a better look at that flap - I put a sticker from the same pad as the corners used on the cover - the colors matched perfectly and of course, I'm a huge Paul Simon fan, so I had to use it!  I also stuck a tiny pink heart above it to accent the sticker.

The rest of the book was made with the same digi - I resized it to very small and used a green
"ink" in Word to match my cardstock color, and printed it on Colorbok Marshmallow Cardstock.  Every woman at the shower was free to write her words of advice and wisdom on each page!  Here is a better look at that as well:

And that's it!! So much fun to make and my goddaughter loved her book!!

Last Whimsie Doodles Post

Good morning crafty peeps!

Today is my last post as Guest Artist for Whimsie Doodles.  I have had so much fun playing with their adorable images !

I figured I would get a jump on my Anniversary card for my hubbs and used this adorable image called Holding Hands in the "What's New" section of the Whimsie Doodle store.

I used some Bazzill cardstock and new papers from Fancy Pants called Park Bench.  I love the color palette and me thinks it just might be my new favorite paper pack.  I used the sketch over at Sketch Saturday as inspiration - while I didn't follow it to a tee, it definitely was used as a jumping off point.  This happy couple is colored in Copics and her cute little bow was given some glitz with Yellow Stickles from Tim Holtz.  I distressed the image and then inked it with some Studio G chalk ink.  The beautiful corner pieces were cut with my Cuttlebug using a Sizzlit die and I also used a Fiskar's punch for some edging behind the image.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.  To finish things off, I used some black and white American Crafts twine, a Recollections flower and a button from my stash!

Next up is a card I created using the precious Need A Hug digi in the Whimsie Doodles People section of the store:

This little sweetie and her beary cute friend are given life via Copics and Cotton Candy Stickles.  I loved the design from the Sketchy Colors challenge this week and used that as inspiration.  I used Bazzill cardstock and Recollections With Love paper collection.  I also threw in a journaling card (scalloped circle) from the Making Memories Noteworthy Spiral Notebook.  There are some self-adhesive Recollections bling on the one panel and a K&Company brad on the Bubblegum MFT grosgrain ribbon.  I used Rubbarb Stalk Memento Ink for the sentiment which came in the MFT Pure Innocence Bear Hugs stamp set.

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Whimise Doodles Guest Artist

Good morning and Happy Monday my crafty friends!

Back in the fall I won a Whimsie Doodles challenge, and was asked to guest for the month of February, using their ever famous adorable images.  Of course, I jumped at the chance and said YES!

So today I'm sharing two very different projects that I created using some of their new images that are currently in their store.

First up, I made this card using their new digi image, Dressy Girl.  She is just perfect for just about any occasion, IMHO.

This little cutie was brought to life with my Copics.  I used some new designer papers from the American Crafts/My Girl collection which just screams spring and girly-love as well as cardstock from DCWV!  The sentiment comes from the Taylored Expressions Many Minis - Occasions sentiment stamp set.  I used a Recollections flower and then made a rolled flower using some of the scraps from the paper pad and stuck it inside as center.  I then centered all of that with a self-adhesive Recollection pearl and then added some more in various sizes in the corners.

My next project features a new digi image called Present Jayson.  I decided to make a tag instead of a card - maybe for one of the men in my family when it's gift giving time.

I colored Jayson in Copics.  I started things off by making a tag and a star out of some Paper Studio Kraft cardstock with my Cricut Expresssion.  I then distressed all my hand-torn dp's (excuse me but I don't remember who the dp is by!!!) and cardstock with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I even distressed the flax Twinery twine in it as well.  I then stamped the star with a sentiment from the Penny Black Mimi in Paris stamp set.  I also stamped the tag with a background stamp from an old Creative Memories stamp set.  A button and some ribbon in my stash pulled it all together.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!!  Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Friends Make It Easy

Hello crafty friends and Happy New Year! It's been a little while since I've been able to blog with the holidays, snow days, and getting back into the routine of "normal" life!  Felt so good to sit and craft a bit this morning while the kiddies were in school :)

A good friend of mine challenged me with an old Mojo Monday sketch.  I must say, this was a toughie for me, but eventually it all flowed together *finally*.  I didn't color with my Copics for this one *gasp*, yet decided on keeping it rather simple and letting the sentiment take center stage.

The adorable sentiment is a wood-mounted stamp from Inkadinkadoo.  The papers are a mix of Bazzill, DCWV and MME Breeze.  I went with a ribbon and dark grey flower from my stash; and finished it off with a K & Company pearl-centered metal brad.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day!
